OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma Families for Affordable Healthcare (OKFAHC) is urging Governor Kevin Stitt to veto Senate Bill 2074, which would increase the cost of prescription medications for Oklahoma families.
The bill has passed the Legislature and is now headed to the Governor’s desk.
SB 2074 establishes a new, state-mandated dispensing fee tied to a government-set benchmark, adding roughly $10 or more to every prescription filled in Oklahoma.
“This is a direct cost increase on prescription drugs,” said Julie McKone, Executive Director of OKFAHC. “Every time a patient fills a prescription, they will pay more, either at the pharmacy counter or through higher premiums.”
The dispensing fee applies to all pharmacies, including large national chains, while the cost is ultimately borne by patients, employers, and taxpayers.
OKFAHC is calling on Governor Stitt to veto SB 2074 and is encouraging Oklahomans to make their voices heard.
